Students of this master’s degree program have the option of taking the Excellence Track<\/strong><\/a> program. This is an extension of the master’s degree program in physics, offering additional courses in specialized physics topics and soft skills and the opportunity to network and attend summer schools, thus making it easier for top-performing students to pursue a doctorate.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/jgu-base-section>\n\n\n

You have a wide range of opportunities after earning a degree in physics. As a scientist, you can work in various research institutions<\/strong> \u2013 both in public institutions and on the free market. The IT sector<\/strong> also offers exciting challenges, as graduates of this program are able to handle large amounts of data, model complex systems, or work in insurance companies to carry out risk analyses. In the first year of this master's degree program, you can choose from a wide range of theoretical and experimental courses. Our goal is to give you a high level of flexibility and allow you to set your own focus. The second year of the master's degree program is reserved for an extensive research project, concluding with the master's thesis. Only then do you have to determine the focus of your research, which does not have to match your choice of special lectures, although that can be helpful. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Over the course of your master's project, you will be integrated into one of our over 50 different scientific working groups and work at the forefront of science. Research stays at leading international research institutions or in external university laboratories are an option. While conducting research, you will work with state-of-the-art equipment and be in contact with other scientists in your field. You will be advised and supported by your supervisor and experienced members of the research group. In addition to important technical skills, you will acquire soft skills such as the ability to work in a team and how to solve problems, as well as writing and presentation techniques. <\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

To apply, you must create an account on our online application portal JOGU-StINe.
If you earned your bachelor's degree in another country, please have your certificates recognized before submitting your application.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Fill out the form online and submit it. If you have successfully submitted your application, the status of your application in JOGU-StINe should no longer read \u201cOpen\u201d. The status should be \"Sent\". As soon as your application has been successfully received, the status will change to \"Received\". <\/p>\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

After submitting your application, you will have to wait a while for it to be processed. Once we check your application and the selection procedure has been carried out, we will upload the result of the selection procedure in the form of an official notification on JOGU-StINe.
