You can start your studies in the winter or summer semester<\/strong>, as most courses are offered every semester. You can therefore start in April or October. Three weeks before the start of the lecture period, all first-year students are offered a bridge course in mathematics <\/strong>to brush up on school mathematics and make the transition between school and university easier for you. This is also a good opportunity to familiarize yourself with the university and get to know your fellow students. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

You can gain insights into various research groups and actively make scientific discoveries as early as during your bachelor\u2019s degree program. Many research groups offer students paid positions as student assistants, which not only provides you with financial support, but can also be an important step towards an exciting scientific career. The Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics degree program teaches the basics of physics, computer science, and engineering and forms the foundation for the advanced Master of Science in Applied Physics degree program.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

In this program of study, you will receive a broad education in mathematics and the natural sciences, as well as technical training. Research<\/strong>, industry<\/strong>, and administrative fields<\/strong> all need specialists who, thanks to their broad knowledge and skills in physics, engineering, and modern technologies, can work independently, quickly and confidently on a wide range of tasks. You will be able to adapt to the changing demands of the market and form the bridge between science and technology. The degree program thus prepares you for a professional field that is located between purely scientific and classic engineering activities and is characterized by demanding interdisciplinary requirements<\/strong> and a focus on internationalization, which is becoming increasingly important.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The degree program is based on a balanced combination of physics and engineering content, with the computer science component forming the focus of the latter. The physics lectures cover all relevant topics in experimental physics, from mechanics and electrodynamics to quantum mechanics and particle physics. In addition, basic knowledge of theoretical physics and mathematics is taught \u2013 but not to the same extent as in the classic physics program. In addition to the natural sciences focus, students will acquire basic skills in engineering. A major focus here is placed on basic lectures in computer science, such as programming and software development, supplemented by other technical aspects such as an introduction to electronics, signal processing, or technical mechanics and design theory. Numerous lab courses or, optionally, industry internships round off the varied course program. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

To be able to study at JGU, you need to have earned a suitable university entrance qualification (HZB). An example of this is a German Abitur, but there are also other types of qualifications. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
