You can start the program of study in the winter or summer semester<\/strong>, as most courses are offered every semester. You can therefore start in April or October. Three weeks before the beginning of the lecture period, a bridge course in mathematics<\/strong> is offered for all first-year students to refresh your school mathematics and make the transition between school and university easier. This is also a good opportunity to familiarize yourself with the university and get to know your fellow students. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

While JGU gives you the opportunity to gain practical experience through various school internships, there’s more, too: You will also have the opportunity to teach pupils and test your teaching concepts in our teaching and learning lab. You can supervise pupils while working as a research assistant in our kids lab, in our particle physics master classes, and at other events (Girl\u2019s Day, Discovery Day) and carry out experiments with them, thus gaining additional important practical experience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Bachelor of Education in Physics degree program, you will learn the basics of physics, a second teaching subject, and Education Science. It forms the foundation for the advanced Master of Education in Physics degree program. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/jgu-base-section>\n\n\n

The Bachelor of Education in Physics program, followed by the Master of Education in Physics program and the teacher traineeship, is the classic path to the teaching profession<\/strong>. However, you also have other options after earning this degree: For example, you can work as an editor in textbook publishing houses<\/strong> or work in science communication<\/strong> and make research accessible to a broader audience.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

In the Bachelor of Education in Physics degree program, you will study physics and how to teach it: In addition to lectures in experimental physics (semesters 1\u20134) and theoretical physics (semesters 5\u20136), you will also be taking courses in subject didactics from the second semester onwards. You will therefore learn less about theoretical physics and mathematical calculation methods than in the Bachelor of Science in Physics degree program. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the B.Ed. program, you will also study Education Studies and a second teaching subject throughout the six semesters. At JGU, the subject of physics can be combined with nearly any other teaching subject without overlap. <\/p>\n\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

To be able to study at JGU, you need to have earned a suitable university entrance qualification (HZB). An example of this is a German Abitur, but there are also other types of qualifications. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
